The solution

We have developed a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) totally custom, designed on the company's requirements and specifications. The project was conducted using the Agile mode, which allowed the project to be completed in just six weeks, divided into three different sprints, each characterized by a concrete objective to be achieved.

The client was therefore able to see the progress of the project in a concrete way, not only once it was completed, but also during its execution.

The results

Thanks to the MES and the data collected, WPI is now able to correctly estimate the order margin and optimize subsequent work.. In fact, the data collected by the application allows us to know in detail and in real time the production costs of each artefact and to calibrate the estimates for future works on them.

The entire production process - divided into work sequences - is now mapped and on the MES it is possible to visualize:

  • the execution times of the various work sequences (first, knowledge of the individual worker and not shared)
  • the processing times and costs of each individual order, in order to be able to make estimates for subsequent projects
